We have our own small guest shop at the Forsthaus, accessible to guests 24/7.

Bayerisch Eisenstein has:

• A village shop selling groceries.
• A bakery/cafe.
• 2 large sports shops, one with a wide range of other clothing, especially Bavarian style
• several gift shops, some selling jewellery/glass/wine.
• butcher and bakery vans visit the village on some days of the week

There are supermarkets in the neighbouring towns.

Eating out in this area is very cheap - main courses are almost always less than €15 and sometimes less than €10. Dishes are mainly pork or beef based. There is also a lot of fresh water fish, especially trout and game dishes, especially venison and wild boar. The most typical local food is pork with mushroom sauce and dumplings. Most restaurants offer vegetarian options. Most restaurants have a children's menu.

Beer is cheap and varied. The best wine is from the Franken area of Germany or from Austria.
