The local trains here are easily accessible with a buggy. Some of our guests have travelled here by train with very young children. Read about one family's experience here - and don't forget the book the excellent family compartments on German trains.

There are toys and books to borrow for babies and young children, a play area in the garden of the Forsthaus and a babies' play area in the games room at Haus Sterr.
Eating out
Children's menus and high chairs are available in the local restaurants and we have normally found that restaurants and cafes are happy to provide water, warm milk and specific foods for babies and young children.
Things to do
The forests close to the house have lots of forest roads which are easy to walk with buggies or carriers. The various national park facilities are easily accessible and the animal enclosures at Neuschoenau and Lohberg and the tree top walk at Neuschoenau are easy to tackle with buggies. The staff at the cable car on the Arber will help to get buggies on and off the gondola and there are some walks suitable for buggies at the top.
